Russell is the owner and accredited driving instructor here at South Burnett Learn to Drive. Russell completed his driver training qualification in September 2020. He then began conducting lessons in late December 2020, and has had an overwhelming response ever since.
Russell has had a passion for driving from a very young age. Growing up in a farming environment he was lucky enough to learn to drive at around seven years of age. Since then, driving has been an important part of his life. Outside of SBL2D Russell has had over 20 years of experience in Trainer-Assessor roles in various coal mines in Queensland. He has also been involved in motorsport (Go Karts, Circuit Racing and Sprints) for over 30 years. During this period of competing in motorsport Russell has always promoted the importance of teens completing advanced driver training.
Over the last seven years Russell has delivered many presentations in conjunction with the local police officers around Fatigue and Impaired Driving to the local high school students and in 2016 was lucky enough to take a group of grade 12 students away for defensive driver training in Ipswich.
