What do I need to do before I can get my learners licence?
30 days prior to turning 16, an individual will be able to complete their Prep L course online through TMR. (You'll find a link to this under Learner's Guide to Driving in the main menu).
Once completed you can book your Driving Lessons with SBL2D via this website or contact us to discuss any specific requirements. See our Contact Us page.
Where are you located?
SBL2D is based in Kingaroy, the largest town of the South Burnett region in Queensland. We service the entire South Burnet, and can come to you upon arrangement.
Can I choose my own instructor for my training?
Absolutely! You can choose your preferred instructor during our booking process. We have both male and female instructors, and also cater for older drivers and special needs.
What type of cars does SBL2D use?
SBL2D has up to 5 cars available, with the main 2 learning cars being Mazda 2 hatchbacks. Our cars allow for both manual and automatic lesson options.
How do I track my hours while on my learners?
There are two ways to track these hours -- via the app downloadable from Google Play Store or Apple store "Qld Learner Log Book" (highly recommended). You can also use the physical log book available for purchase from TMR.
Do I receive more hours in my log book by using a driving school?
Yes – for the first 10 hours completed with a driving school, you will receive 3 for 1 equating to 30 hours (day hours only). After the 10 hours are completed, you receive 1 for 1. All night hours are 1 for 1.
Once I have completed my 100 hours what do I do?
When 100 hours are completed, the QLD Learner app will prompt you to submit your log book for approval to TMR. Then in preparation for your provisional test, you will be required to discuss requirements for booking your test with SBL2D. In addition, after holding your learners licence for more than 6 months, you will receive a link from TMR to complete your Hazard Perception test. This can be completed at any stage, but must be completed before SBL2D can book a provisional licence test.

What can I expect from my first lesson with SBL2D?
When booking your first lesson, we highly recommend booking our initial lesson (auto or manual) appointment. This 1 ½ hour lesson creates a safe and positive introductory environment to settle the nerves and complete a driving car familiarisation. We recommend you wear appropriate footwear, and also carry your licence with you (either physically or digitally – stored on the digital licence app (available for download in Google Playstore or Apple store).) SBL2D can either pick you up from your home, school or we can arrange a meeting point – talk to us regarding this.
